New Release of Protein Analyzer "The Lab 002" Rapid Measurement of Three Types of Inflammatory Proteins (CRP/ α1-AGP/Hp)

Can be used at clinics and other facilities to objectively determine inflammation and infection

ARKRAY, Inc. (Headquarter: Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, hereafter, ARKRAY) will launch a protein analyzer "The Lab 002 (hereafter, The Lab 002)" on April 18, 2023 (Tuesday). Inflammatory proteins (CRP/α1-AGP/Hp), which are used to determine inflammation and infections, are rapidly measured in trace samples. It is possible to display the calculation results of APR score, which is used for screening of neonatal infections, based on the measured values and cutoff values of three items: CRP/α1-AGP/Hp. It can be used for objective determination such as early diagnosis of infection and understanding of medical conditions, which require quick judgment.

"The Lab 002", a protein analyzer to be released by ARKRAY, is an analyzer capable of rapid measurement of inflammatory proteins (CRP/α1-AGP/Hp) used to determine inflammation and infection. CRP Rapid of serum and plasma measurements can be measured in as little as 30 seconds. Results for other items can be obtained in 60 seconds. The required sample volume is small (10 μL), minimizing patient burden. CRP is also compatible with whole blood measurement, which reduces the time and effort of centrifugation

Inflammatory proteins are an objective criterion for inflammation and infection. In particular, Acute Phase Reactants (APR) score, calculated from the three items of CRP/α1-AGP/Hp, is used as a key indicator for the differentiation of neonatal infections that spread quickly throughout the body and are difficult to diagnose. "The Lab 002" measures and scores CRP Rapid and α1-AGP/Hp in 30 seconds and 60 seconds, respectively, on a 10-µL trace sample. It can be used to determine treatment plans promptly and appropriately in medical settings where quick decision making is required.

- Rapid measurement
Results for CRP Rapid is displayed in as little as 30 seconds. Measurements for other items can be performed in 60 seconds.
*For CRP Rapid low mode, it takes 90 seconds depending on the concentration range.

- Enables measurement with trace amounts of samples
All items can be measured with a sample volume of 10μL, respectively. CRP is also compatible with whole blood measurement, which reduces the time and effort of centrifugation.
When screening newborns, measurements can also be made with trace samples by capillary collection using a capillary tip sold separately. It can be tested with minimal patient burden.

- System design to prevent human error
Intuitive operation is possible with the color touch panel.
The included hand-held barcode reader makes it easy to read and input reagent calibration curve data and patient IDs.
In addition, by reading testing items from the two-dimensional code installed in each reagent cuvette, item mistakes due to human error are prevented.
